DP Limos 4-3  Prince of Wales Dyers Lane Sunday 5th September 2004 A win for DP Limos in there first game of the season but it was not without an early scare. DP LIMOS 3-4 LONG LAWFORD 1ST TEAM LONG LAWFORD PARK 8TH SEPTEMBER 2004 It was always going to be a difficult tie .To meet a first division team in the first round of the cup gives you a chance to gauge how good you really are ,and DP’s certainly didn’t let themselves down on this occasion. Lawford started brightly and probably had the better of the early exchanges .However once DP’s had settled it was not long until Tom “Virgil “Thacker headed them in front after an up and under by Robert “Red Rock “ Thompson put him in. Lawford fought back and went in at half-time two one up . DP’s came out in the second half bright and breezy going close on a number of occasions .Until Shane “Shalong” Wilson jinked his way into the box leaving the lawford defence for dead and slotting past the advancing keeper. Lawford fought back and once again this epic took another twist going 3-2 up after a fine individual effort. The game seemed to be slipping away when a misunderstanding gifted Lawford a fourth. All credit to DP’s though they never gave up the fight and managed to get a goal back .With five minutes left on the clock the ball was centred by Shane “Shalong” Wilson and due to the pressure on the Lawford central defender by Jansen “Figo” Leonard the ball was turned into his own net . Unfortunately DP’s were unable to make any further in roads and ended up the wrong side of seven goals. DP Limos 6-1 Newbold Revel Sunday 12th September 2004 Newbold Revel –Brinklow A resounding win after the disappointments of Wednesdays loss to Lawford. DP’s went in at half time 3-0 up after goals from Jamie Kirkup and a brace from Shane Wilson put them ahead.
